SOLD OUT CSPG13SC Risk and Uncertainty Analysis for the Assessment of Unconventional Resource Plays
This course provides a treatment for the description, characterization and assessment of tight gas, shale and coal bed methane plays. Beginning with practical definitions and geo-formational processes, R&A describes the techniques to understand the main geologic attributes and concerns associated with these types of plays. These concepts in turn are used to probabilistically estimate the resource potential. We finish with a discussion of flow regimes for these reservoirs and how to model their performance via basic valuation techniques and play assessment processes to aid decisions that best profit from staged investments in unconventional resource plays.
